Ratting action with the Suffolk & Norfolk Rat Pack
Last month we were with Sam Green in Norfolk for a driven pheasant and partridge day. Now we’re back at the shoot for a different kind of sport – ratting with the Suffolk & Norfolk Rat Pack. We start at the piggery buildings, then move on to compost heaps and game covers. The dogs ‘mark’ at holes that are occupied, then the team move in with spades and a JCB telehandler to flush the rats. The dogs make short work of catching and killing the fleeing rodents and we finish with an impressive total of nearly 150.
