Most of us find it hard enough shooting clays with a 12-bore, but a .410 is a whole new level of challenge. If you feel you’re up to it – or just fancy giving it a go – the date has just been confirmed for the British Open .410 Championship 2022. It’s at the West Midlands Shooting Ground at Hodnet in Shropshire, on Saturday 27 August.
The competition consists of 100 Sporting targets over 14 stands, and will be squadded in groups of six. The organisers are hoping for an entry of 200 shooters, and there will be a Compact Sporting layout running as a pool shoot all day.
